At Sweet Home Alabama Bengals, our kittens are born and raised right in the heart of our home. From their earliest days, they experience the everyday sights, sounds, and activity of family life while receiving plenty of love, attention, and hands-on care.
As they grow, our kittens are given opportunities to explore, play, climb, interact, and experience age-appropriate enrichment. We spend time getting to know each kitten as an individual while allowing their own unique personalities to emerge.
Our goal is to provide each kitten with positive early experiences and a loving foundation as they prepare for the transition from our home to their new family.
Our Approach to Health
Comprehensive DNA Testing
We use comprehensive DNA testing to help identify known genetic variants and guide responsible breeding decisions. These results are considered alongside pedigree, veterinary care, and other appropriate health information when planning our program.
Parasite Prevention & Care
Our cats and kittens receive attentive preventative care, including appropriate parasite prevention, deworming, and veterinary testing based on age, individual needs, and veterinary recommendations. Maintaining a clean, healthy home environment is an important part of their everyday care.
Veterinary Wellness Care
Our kittens receive age-appropriate veterinary care before leaving for their new homes, including health examinations, vaccinations, and deworming as appropriate. Families receive available health records along with the protections outlined in our written health guarantee.
The Sweet Home Alabama Difference
Sweet Home Alabama Bengals was never created with the goal of becoming a large-scale breeding program. We intentionally keep our cattery small so that our cats can remain part of our everyday family life and each kitten can receive the individual attention and care they deserve.
For us, success is not measured by the number of litters we produce. It is measured by the care we provide, the thought behind each breeding decision, and the responsibility we carry for every kitten born here.
We take the time to know our cats as individuals, thoughtfully plan each litter, and watch our kittens grow and develop before they leave our home. Keeping our program intentionally small allows us to remain personally involved throughout that entire journey.
