Our Gracious Queens
Queen Zuri
Zuri is our breathtaking Silver G2 Bengal and one of the foundation queens of Sweet Home Alabama Bengals.
With her incredible contrast, bold rosettes, athletic build, and striking appearance, she beautifully reflects the wildelegance that first drew us to the Bengal breed.
Zuri’s Heritage: A Legacy of Silver
Zuri’s documented pedigree includes internationally recognized silver Bengal lines, including Silverstorm The Maharajahs Cat (Rajah), a TICA Supreme Grand Champion. Her silver coat and striking contrast reflect generations of carefully selected Bengal ancestry.
What Is a G2 Bengal?
G2 stands for second generation from the Asian Leopard Cat (ALC), the wild ancestor of the Bengal breed. In Zuri’s pedigree, this means she is two generations removed from an Asian Leopard Cat, placing her much closer to the breed’s foundation ancestry than the SBT Bengals most people are familiar with today.
Because of this close ancestry, Zuri displays many of the exotic characteristics that make early-generation Bengals so captivating. Her wild appearance, unique presence, and athletic build are beautiful reminders of the breed’s remarkable origins.
While her ancestry is extraordinary, to us Zuri is much more than her pedigree. She is an intelligent, curious, and deeply loved member of our family who has captured our hearts from the very beginning. She is playful, affectionate, and always eager to be involved in whatever we’re doing.
As one of the foundation queens of Sweet Home Alabama Bengals, Zuri represents an important part of our vision for preserving the health, beauty, structure, and striking Asian Leopard Cat-inspired appearance we admire in the Bengal breed.
The Importance of the Next Generation
For breeders, Zuri’s G3 offspring may offer an opportunity to incorporate early-generation Bengal heritage into a thoughtfully planned breeding program. As the next generation from our G2 foundation queen, carefully selected offspring may contribute valuable qualities to future generations while continuing the progression toward SBT Bengal lines.
For an appropriate breeding program, a carefully evaluated G3 may offer an exciting opportunity to work with early-generation Bengal ancestry while contributing thoughtfully to the future of the breed.

Why Bengals?
More Than Just a Beautiful Cat
Bengal cats are truly distinctive. Their exotic appearance may be what first catches your attention, but their intelligence, curiosity, athleticism, and interactive nature are often what make people fall in love with the breed.
Every Bengal is an individual, and personality can vary from cat to cat. Many Bengals enjoy being involved in everyday family life, exploring their surroundings, playing interactive games, and forming close relationships with the people around them.
For the right family, a Bengal can become a deeply loved and engaging companion.
What Makes Bengals Unique?
Bengals are known for many characteristics that make the breed so fascinating:
✨ Intelligence – Bengals are highly intelligent cats. Many enjoy learning routines, solving puzzles, playing interactive games, and exploring new challenges. Providing regular mental stimulation and enrichment is an important part of living with the breed.
✨ Interactive Nature – Many Bengals enjoy being involved in whatever their families are doing. Some are extremely social and affectionate, while others may be more independent. Like all cats, each Bengal develops an individual personality.
✨ Athletic Ability – Bengals are typically active, agile cats that enjoy climbing, jumping, exploring, and playing. Cat trees, climbing spaces, interactive toys, and other forms of enrichment can provide healthy outlets for their natural activity.
✨ Unique Beauty – Bold rosettes, spotted patterns, beautiful contrast, expressive eyes, and the shimmering effect known as glitter can give Bengals their distinctive, wild-inspired appearance.
Is a Bengal Right for You?
While Bengals can make wonderful companions, they are not the right fit for every household. Their intelligence and activity level mean they generally benefit from families prepared to provide regular interaction, enrichment, play, and opportunities to explore.
Before bringing home a Bengal, it is important to consider whether their needs and activity level are a good match for your lifestyle.
A Bengal may be a good fit for a home looking for an intelligent, active, interactive companion and prepared to provide the time, attention, enrichment, and lifelong care that the breed requires.
What About Allergies?
No cat breed is truly hypoallergenic, including the Bengal.
The primary cat allergen, Fel d 1, is produced primarily in a cat’s saliva and skin glands rather than simply by the fur itself. Individual cats can produce different amounts of allergens, and individual people can react very differently.
Some people with cat allergies may find that they react differently to Bengals, but owning a Bengal should not be considered a guarantee of fewer allergy symptoms.
If someone in your household has cat allergies, we recommend spending time around Bengals before committing to bringing one home and discussing significant allergies with an appropriate healthcare professional.⁶
