Completing this application does not guarantee a kitten placement. We carefully review each application to ensure our kittens are placed in loving, responsible homes where they can thrive.
Clear Policies
A Lifetime Commitment
When one of our kittens leaves Sweet Home Alabama Bengals, our commitment to them doesn't end at our door. Every kitten born into our program will always be part of the Sweet Home Alabama family, and their lifelong happiness and well-being will always matter to us.
For that reason, declawing is absolutely prohibited for every Sweet Home Alabama Bengal. We believe their claws are a natural and important part of who they are, and we expect our families to provide appropriate scratching surfaces, enrichment, and positive alternatives.
What Declawing Actually Means
Declawing is not simply the removal of a cat’s claws. The procedure removes the last bone of each toe—the portion of the toe from which the claw grows. In human terms, it is comparable to amputating each finger at the last joint.

We also understand that life can change in ways no one expects. If at any point—whether months or many years from now—a family is no longer able to care for one of our Bengals, we ask that they contact us first. We will help determine the best and safest placement for that cat.
No Bengal from Sweet Home Alabama Bengals should ever be abandoned, surrendered to a shelter, or passed from home to home without us knowing.
They may leave our home, but they never stop being one of ours.
Reservation & Deposit Policy
At Sweet Home Alabama Bengals, placing our kittens in loving, responsible homes is incredibly important to us. We want the reservation process to be clear, fair, and comfortable for both our families and our cattery.
What Your Reservation Deposit Represents
A reservation deposit does more than reserve your place for a future Sweet Home Alabama Bengal. It represents a serious commitment between our cattery and an approved family.
Once a reservation deposit is accepted, we begin planning for that kitten’s placement and preparing for their transition into their new home. Every kitten remains in our care while receiving the veterinary care, nutrition, socialization, enrichment, and preparation appropriate for their age and placement.
For pet kittens, this includes veterinarian-recommended vaccinations and spay or neuter prior to going home. Kittens placed with approved breeding programs receive veterinarian-recommended vaccinations and comprehensive DNA genetic testing prior to placement.
Your reservation deposit is applied toward the kitten’s total purchase price.
Kitten Application & Approval
Before reserving a kitten, prospective families must complete our Kitten Application and receive approval from Sweet Home Alabama Bengals.
Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or the availability of a kitten. We reserve the right to approve or decline an application at our discretion, with the best interests of our kittens always coming first.
Reservation Deposits
Once a family has been approved and is eligible to reserve a kitten, a reservation deposit is required.
Pet Kittens — $500 Reservation Deposit
Breeder Kittens — $1,000 Reservation Deposit
All reservation deposits are non-refundable and will be applied toward the kitten's total purchase price.
A deposit represents a serious commitment to purchasing a kitten from Sweet Home Alabama Bengals. For this reason, deposits will not be refunded if a buyer changes their mind, is no longer able to purchase a kitten, or chooses to purchase a kitten elsewhere.
At the sole discretion of Sweet Home Alabama Bengals, a reservation deposit may be transferred to a future litter. Transfers are considered individually and are not guaranteed.
Waitlist & Kitten Selection
Approved families will be contacted in the order of their reservation/waitlist position as kittens become available.
We do not guarantee a specific color, pattern, gender, or kitten before kittens are born and evaluated.
Our kittens are carefully observed as they grow so that we can evaluate their health, development, temperament, and overall quality. Our goal is not simply to place kittens in order of availability, but to help each family find a kitten that will be a wonderful fit for their home.
Litter size, colors, patterns, genders, and timing are determined by nature and cannot be guaranteed.
Breeder Reservations
Kittens offered with breeding rights are placed selectively and are subject to additional approval and the terms of our Breeder Contract.
A $1,000 non-refundable reservation deposit is required for breeder kittens and is applied toward the total purchase price.
Approval for a pet kitten does not automatically constitute approval for breeding rights.
Remaining Balance
The reservation deposit will be credited toward the kitten's total purchase price.
The remaining balance must be paid in full according to the payment terms outlined in the kitten’s purchase contract and before the kitten leaves our care.
Communication & Updates
We know waiting for your kitten is exciting! Families will receive updates throughout the process, including appropriate pregnancy, birth, growth, and placement updates.
We want our families to feel connected to their kitten's journey long before the day they finally come home.
Our Commitment
Sweet Home Alabama Bengals reserves the right to make placement decisions based on what we believe is in the best interest of each kitten.
Our goal is not simply to place kittens in order of availability, but to thoughtfully consider each kitten and family when making placement decisions.
By submitting a reservation deposit, the buyer acknowledges and agrees to the terms of this Reservation & Deposit Policy.
